IMSG has a long and well-recognized history of providing high quality services to scientific programs within the agencies of the Federal government. We are involved in an industry that is advancing technologically and requires cutting edge tools and techniques to maintain and improve capabilities. In this vein, we are constantly improving our workforce and our understanding of today's problems to maintain a competitive edge. Our workforce includes a broad skill set that touches on many scientific disciplines and includes management, administration, and information technology professionals with experience in supporting scientific performance based contracts. These professionals provide IMSG the ability to present a comprehensive and integrative approach to solving environmental, climatic, and ecological problems.
We are actively supporting several major scientific and technical services contracts in several parts of the country. IMSG is providing technical support services for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Coastal Services Center in Charleston, South Carolina. The NOAA Coastal Services Center is devoted to serving the nation's state and local coastal resource management programs and IMSG delivers program management, outreach and training, geospatial and information technology solutions, and scientific understanding that demonstrate quality, innovation, and value to our client.
Federal agencies today are working to improve our understanding of climate change, manage global ecosystems, protect our national resources, and improve our lives. IMSG provides professional scientific and technical expertise to assist in many important programs.
The NOAA Office of Response and Restoration oversees NOAA's implementation of the NOAA Coral Reef Conservation Program and responds to hazardous materials threats in order to protect and restore coastal resources. IMSG helps the Office of Response and Restoration accomplish these functions by providing administrative, program coordination, and outreach support, as well as scientific and economic technical expertise. The Office of Protected Resources of NOAA Fisheries manages programs and policies for one of the nation's most precious natural resources - its marine life. One aspect of this function is to engage in International Marine Policy issues. IMSG assists in this area by providing expertise in developing international agreements, coordinating international agencies, and support in the research of international marine issues.
The NOAA Office of Research and Applications, (soon to become STAR, the Center for Satellite Applications and Research) conducts research on the use of satellite data for monitoring meteorological, climatological, and oceanographic environmental characteristics. The NOAA Environmental Modeling Center (EMC) improves numerical weather, marine and climate predictions at the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) through a broad program of research in data assimilation and modeling. IMSG SciTech Team at ORA and EMC is providing a variety of critical scientific research and applications development support services to NOAA. At NESDIS, we focus our expertise on remotely sensed data products including the development of advanced algorithms and systems development that utilize satellites' data to improve our understanding of the atmosphere, ocean and land surface. At EMC, we perform research into the improvement of mesoscale parameterization schemes, quantitative precipitation forecasting, winter storm prediction, ensemble modeling system operational simulations, and the evaluation of ocean models performance.
The NOAA National Marine Protected Areas (MPA) Center focuses on forging partnerships and serving as a resource for information about the nation's MPAs. IMSG provides the MPA program with natural and social science analysis support, geospatial technology support, policy analysis support, decision system development support, outreach and communication support, and administrative support services. The NOAA Habitat Restoration Division within the Office of Habitat Conservation is solely responsible for restoring the coastal and marine habitats that support our nation's fisheries. IMSG provides the necessary support services to assist the division at meeting these challenges including personnel to solve complex scientific, management, communication, and outreach support.
