IMSG was invited as Observer for the Joint Meeting of the Working Group on Information Systems & Services (WGISS) and Working Group on Calibration and Validation (WGCV) for the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS), February 25-29, 2008, in Sanya, Hainan, China. Key members of the I.M. Systems Group team were in attendance, including IMSG CEO, Mr. Vance Hum, IMSG Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Paul Chan and Chief Scientist for IMSG, Dr. Le Jiang. Other attendees included: Dr. Steve Ungar of the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center; Dr. DeWayne Cecil of the U.S. Geologic Survey; Dr. Ernest Hilsenrath of NASA; Dr. Junwu Tang of the Chinese National Satellite Ocean Application Service; and

Scientists attending a recent Coral Bleaching workshop found a dramatic drop in surface sea temperatures. Taking part in the conference at the Heron Island Research Station was a group of international scientists representing National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), NASA and James Cook University. Joining the observation at Tannum Sands was Professor Mal Heron in charge of the Australian Coastal Ocean Radar Network (ACORN); Dr. Al Strong, a consultant with NOAA in Washington, DC; Dr. Mark Eakin, coordinator of NOAA's worlwide Coral Reef Watch project, also in Washington; Dr. William Skirving and Dr. Scott Heron of NOAA's Coral Reef Watch at Townsville; and Vance Y. Hum, president and CEO of I.M. Systems Group in Washington.
