Water Resources

Management of water resources is becoming more challenging due to growing and shifting water demands caused by economic development, population growth, deteriorating water quality, and many other factors. Climate change is expected to impact the water cycle and hence the management of water resources. There is an increasing appreciation of the value of water giving rise to tension over water rights.

IMSG’s scientists and engineers recognize these challenges and have developed skills and tools to provide water resources management solutions in areas such as water harvesting and stewardship, watershed management, water treatment and distribution, wastewater treatment and management, and water security.

Examples of our team’s experiences include rehabilitation assessments of reservoirs to increase irrigation and water supply for communities; analysis of floods and droughts to improve water storage capacity of watersheds; pollution mitigation assessments to provide safer water and reduce negative health impacts; ecosystems and wetlands management to increase agricultural production; wastewater reuse to provide clean and safe water; and Decision Support System (DSS) applications to floods, droughts, pollution, and other climate change events.
