Web Project Coordinator

I.M. Systems Group, Inc. (IMSG) www.imsg.com is currently looking to hire a Web Project Coordinator for the NOAA Climate Services Portal (www.climate.gov).  This position will be located at the NOAA National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) in Asheville, North Carolina.  The Coordinator will be responsible for coordination with multiple portal team members from numerous departments, agencies, and locations.  Candidate will ensure that the submission of content proceeds in a consistent, user friendly manner on a routine basis.  The candidate must have experience as a web project coordinator with various content management systems and web-based technologies, a willingness to work with a variety of users, and the ability to design and implement solutions as situations dictate.

Duties:

• Serves as a Climate.gov web site coordinator and in this capacity coordinates the work of interdisciplinary teams assigned to the project to ensure that objectives are met and a high degree of effectiveness is maintained.
• Identify requirements from site contributors/partners, document requirements; communicate clearly to technical implementation teams – engineering, design, database, etc.
• Works with management team to establish priorities, monitors progress, and reports on progress in meeting established milestones and deadlines.
• Help develop roles, responsibilities, and related work flows for content management in relation to other systems components
• Assists in developing annual plans utilizing work breakdown methods
• Engage users to routinely gather and refine requirements

Qualifications:

• Project Management certification – PMP
• Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-program team
• Extensive experience in planning, developing and releasing global web applications
• Familiarity working with various IT departments (i.e., security, server support, hardware support)
• Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts with team participants in layman’s terms to non-technical staff
• Experience implementing and customizing Drupal content management systems
• 2+ years web development experience using the following: PHP, Java/JSP, JavaScript, CSS, XHTML
