Hurricane Dolores in the Eastern Pacific Ocean

Hurricane Dolores in the Eastern Pacific Ocean

Hurricane Dolores is at category 4 strength in an area of low vertical wind shear and very warm ocean waters, and is forecast to maintain that strength for the next 12 – 24 hours. Dolores’s forecast track has been shifting southward, which would keep the cyclone over warmer water and possibly result in slower or delayed weakening. Dolores is southeast of Isla Socorro heading west-northwest. This image was taken by GOES East at 1445Z on July 15, 2015.
