IMSG has taken its award winning suite of Knowledge Presentation and Collaboration tools and integrated them into a powerful application we call “IMPower.”
In all organizations, large or small, people depend upon sharing information, experiences, knowledge, documents, etc., with others inside as well as outside the formal organization, (customers, suppliers, others in the field). IMPower connects people to both the information and knowledge they need and with other knowledgeable people, such that sharing occurs easily, naturally and as part of the daily efforts. Tapping into the experiences of an organization and all of its players offers a powerful source of insight and knowledge that provides a significant return on investment.
IMPower is very flexible and can include a searchable Key Document library. It also offers Threaded Discussion, with notification when others add to, comment or answer. It offers immediate access to subject matter experts, technical help, forms, templates and examples. Suspense tracking and workflow are all part of this powerful Document Management system. Some of our customers establish “Ask an Expert” where authoritative answers may be provided to submitted questions. The most compelling reason to implement this tool is the combining of many or all of these functions into Community of Practice workspaces!
Communities of Practice (CoP) are distributed groups of people who share a concern, set of problems, mandate or sense of purpose. Communities of Practice serve to connect individuals with others in self-organizing, boundary-spanning groups that share. They also complement existing structures by promoting collaboration, information exchange, and sharing of lessons learned and best practices across boundaries of time, distance, and organizational hierarchies.
A great deal of knowledge creation happens in these communities especially when recognized and supported by the organization. Communities of Practice are particularly useful in environments where new knowledge develops daily, or where workers turnover or rotation volume is high.
Let I.M. Systems Group and IMPower show you how to make the most of the collective know-how of your organization.
