As coastal management and resource allocation take front stage for most agencies, the human dimension is now taking prominence. IMSG provides expertise in the human dimensions of the environment and natural resource management, focusing on sociocultural behavior and the link between, culture, society and the human use, understanding of, and interaction with the environment.
IMSG works with local, state, and federal entities, as well as advisory boards, to incorporate the human dimension into upcoming policies as well and environmental remediation actions. We bring subject matter experts, policy-makers, and resource managers to the table with the latest facts and decision support tools, ensuring that all aspects and interests are represented. Incorporating the human dimension allows agencies to create solutions to environmental concerns that are embraceable.
HD.gov
IMSG staff played a critical role in developing the federal government’s “human dimension” web portal (hd.gov) to provide information and tools related to the human dimensions of natural resource management. Human dimensions include the ways through which individuals, groups, and society interact with, affect, and are affected by the natural environment and environmental change.
