Overview:
I.M. Systems Group, Inc. (IMSG) (www.imsg.com) is looking for a motivated individual to serve as the Communications and Outreach Coordinator for the NOAA Pacific Services Center (PSC), a federal facility in Honolulu, HI.
PSC (www.csc.noaa.gov/psc) works in partnership with the natural resource management communities of the Pacific, including Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and makes NOAA's products and services available to these communities.

Duties:
- The Center’s projects have a strong customer focus and are driven by the input and feedback of the coastal resource management community. The successful candidate will be able to work on multiple projects, demonstrate strong project management and coordination skills, exhibit proven leadership and communication skills, and process and organize information in a meaningful way for the Center’s customer base.
Core responsibilities include:
- Communicating and partnering with PSC’s external audience which includes the resource management community
- Coordinating and providing information and updates to PSC’s internal audience of CSC, NOS, and NOAA
- Coordinating with PSC Theme teams on cross theme coordination and outreach
- Participating in and Creating Outreach opportunities for PSC/CSC services and products
- Coordinating the development and analyses of local assessments that will expand and improve upon NOAA’s/PSC’s products and services
- Developing and updating PSC brochures, web page and external materials up to date
Addtional duties:
- Develop a strategic communication and outreach plan for PSC
- Coordinate the development of communication and outreach materials and other collateral for various PSC projects when applicable
- Participate as a representative for PSC in outreach events including but not limited to: community events, conferences, workshops, partnership building opportunities
- Serve as a representative to the NOAA Integrated Outreach Team
- Coordinate One Report submissions for relevant PSC products and services
- Work with PSC/CSC staff to promote products and services in NOAA and other publications
- Research relevant communication and outreach opportunities for PSC
- Provide the Director updates on communication and outreach activities being undertaken as well as potential outreach opportunities

Qualifications:
- The position requires independent work and initiative.
- Knowledge of coastal and marine programs within NOAA is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of three years of experience in communication, marketing, and/or outreach or Master’s degree plus a minimum of two years of experience in the same is required.
- Working knowledge in an environmental or social science field, particularly marine science or coastal management is helpful, but not mandatory.
- The successful candidate must demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and knowledge of NOAA and its partners and stakeholders or at least a demonstrated ability to get up to speed quickly in a new area.
- The candidate should be detail-oriented and be able to coordinate projects and efforts without being in control of them.
- The candidate must also have the ability to work without direct, day to day supervision and will require travel.
